First used during the 17th century in Europe, these little wine vessels are specifically designed for port wine. Port wine is usually best served around 18 degrees celsius, so the small shape makes the glass perfect to cradle in your hand providing warmth to the port. Sipping wine from the bottom of the glass through the stem helps reduce oxidation of the wine which helps improve flavour.
